Thawing
Two days in the 40s! On Saturday we emerged from hibernation in the apartment and went to Coney Island to see the NY aquarium. Below, Susannah strolls the boardwalk.
S and mom take a break after checking out the shark tank (which we must say is not nearly as spectacular as the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga).

Sunday - The Underhill Playground starts to thaw out! S was psyched, and only fell in one huge snow puddle.
Auntie Anne Louise came to visit - good times and pirate faces.

Goodbye January, Hello February
Chugging along here, let's see . . . I'm enjoying school, Ben's working hard, Susannah's being entertaining, and oh yeah, it's still cold.
Granddaddy and Shay-Shay braved one of the coldest weekends on record here, and we had a lot of fun with them even though it was too cold to leave the apartment. Thanks for coming to visit bringing all the good food!
Susannah's new favorite activity is Destruct the Apartment, and the kitchen seems to be her favorite place to start. She's treating the cabinet full of pots and pans as her headquarters. She likes to take all of the ziploc bags out of the container and pull all the magnets off the refrigerator. Then she takes her baby doll and gives it a really comfortable place to sleep. Being a toddler is so fun.
