Baby Aplin to Have One Smart Mom

Beth finally decided on grad school this week - part time at Sarah Lawrence. She will be working on her MFA in creative nonfiction. The college is in Bronxville, NY, about an hour-and-a-half commute from where we live, but luckily she will only have to go once or twice a week. We are now hiring babysitters for the fall. Any of you planning on moving to NY soon?

In other news, Dr. Grandad (that's Beth's dad) was in town this weekend, his first visit to Brooklyn, USA. Unfortunately the camera battery died, so we don't have many photos to accompany what was a perfect spring day. The magnolia plaza at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden was blazing. Thanks to Dr. G for not allowing us to take our wallets out for the entire weekend! After close examination of Beth's belly, he is certain that Baby Aplin is a boy. He used to deliver a lot of babies when he worked at a clinic in Pikeville, TN. In about six weeks we'll see if he is right.

In other Baby Aplin news, the vast majority its growth is now complete! It's a good thing because Beth is now down to exactly two pairs of pants.

I apply for the job of nanny! All I need is a place to stay, medical benefits, and a small stipend in order to live in Brooklyn. References upon request.

Baby boy Aplin, of course it's going to be a boy, I want to apply for the nanny job. I can sleep in the bathtub. No Problem.

Love to Beth, Ben and Baby Boy Aplin,

Aunt Kelly

I had a dream last night that Beth gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on the hood of a cadillac at the Signal Mountain Market. You named her Cheddar Allison Aplin, and we all celebrated with some cadbury eggs... what do you think it means?

Dear Ben & Beth:
from Debra Eder
debra_eder@yahoo.com

I had an old email address from you that bounced back to me.

Hope you're well; the last I knew, you were living in Brooklyn. We found some objects in your old apartment; one of them might be of value to you. It is a round, metal flask engraved with the initials EAC.

We also found the bottom of a white ceramic butter dish from Pottery Barn & a small red ceramic bowl from Pier 1.

I'd be happy to mail any of these objects to you if you send me your address.
I'm sure you're surprised to hear from me out of the blue!
